BOMMA ATELIER

The cubist Diamond House in the historic center of Prague is home to the BOMMA Atelier - a newly created meeting place for professionals and design lovers, where all BOMMA collections are exhibited together for the first time. This unique urban apartment combines original, bespoke functional furniture with products from the world's leading global brands in contemporary interior design and invites discussion about the possibilities of this field.

The Czech manufacturer of crystal lamps, the BOMMA brand, chose an unconventionally structured apartment in the cubist Diamond House, designed by architect Emil Králíček in 1912, as its first showroom. BOMMA, whose Glass House opened exactly 100 years after the creation of this Cubist gem, rented the apartment directly from the descendants of the writer, politician and representative of the First Republic's avant-garde Adolf Hoffmeister, who had the house built and lived in the apartment.

However, the BOMMA studio is not only used to present crystal lamps in the context of other high-quality brands, art and period furniture. The aim was to create a place dedicated to interior design in this unique historical setting - a lively space for inspiration, discussions and meetings between professionals and the general public. In addition to meetings with its partners and customers, BOMMA is planning various events, lectures and also the recording of the podcast BOMMA Design Talks about interior design.

"Since its foundation, BOMMA has focused on original design, high-quality craftsmanship and a commitment to creating exceptional, timeless products. Combined with such unique architecture and the overall interior design of the studio, the impression of an original aesthetic is only enhanced. We didn't just want to showcase our collections, we wanted to create a truly inspiring, unconventional space that would bring out the full potential of interior design. That's why we turned to Milan-based interior designer Sophie Wannenes, whose typically Italian approach to design breaks away from the ubiquitous minimalism, knows how to combine different styles and emphasizes the character of individual products through bold combinations," explains Eva Kozarová, Marketing Manager of the BOMMA brand.

For the first time, BOMMA is exhibiting all of its lighting collections in its studio, together with selected design pieces from leading Czech and foreign brands. Each element was personally selected by the designer of the space, Sophie Wannenes, interior designer and owner of a design gallery in Milan, together with designer Václav Mlynář, the creative director of the BOMMA brand.

"The concept is based on current European trends, with the colors creating an almost scenographic but completely harmonious atmosphere. The result is a real place to live, work and learn, an environment for designers and brands united by a love of design," reveals BOMMA Atelier interior designer Sophie Wannenes about the project.

However, the current form of the space is not immutable. The BOMMA studio is intended to change constantly, demonstrating the possibilities of working with the space and stimulating visitors' creativity. Several international designers have already agreed to take up residence in the studio's residential wing. They can even live in Prague for the duration of their stay in order to experience the extraordinary character of the location and the crystal lights. The results of the residencies are then proposals for the redesign of individual rooms or completely new luminaire collections for the BOMMA brand.

By combining the original furnishings of the apartment with BOMMA luminaires, art, furniture and decorations from the world's leading contemporary design brands, a completely unique space has been created to stimulate a much-needed discussion about the possibilities of different interior design concepts.
