Material authenticity on an architectural scale

The French brand Modelec approaches electrical installation components as architectural details. Switches and sockets are made from solid materials, with an emphasis on detail, proportion, surface finish, and craftsmanship, becoming a natural part of the interior's material concept.

Modelec's experience in designing and manufacturing electrical components, which it has been developing since 1976, is reflected in a thoughtful balance between form, function, and material. It is this dynamic that is at the heart of the brand's philosophy and enables the creation of products with a thoughtful and balanced expression.

All production takes place in France, with an emphasis on craftsmanship and high quality standards. The products are designed to be solid, reliable, and technically ready for today's requirements, including integration into home intelligence systems. This makes the individual collections suitable for use in residential, hotel, and commercial projects.

Collections as different approaches to detail

Confidence

The Confidence collection is based on clean lines and high-quality materials, which play a key role here. Precisely crafted brass elements and an emphasis on detail in the surface finishes create a calm, balanced look that is suitable for residential, hotel, and commercial spaces.

Twelve brass finishes, visible or concealed screws, and four lever shapes allow for subtle adaptation to the architectural concept. In practice, finishes such as Old Bronze, Brushed and Satin Brass, Gun Metal, and Brushed Steel are very popular, confirming the timeless character of the collection. Confidence is Modelec's flagship collection: flexible, timeless, and designed as an elegant finishing touch to interiors where detail plays a key role.

M

The M collection, designed by Valérie Mazerat, draws directly on the essence of the material and the process of its treatment. It combines the legacy of 1960s design with the contemporary craftsmanship of the Modelec brand to create timeless, architecturally legible details.

The collection is based on materials such as brass, steel, and aluminum, processed with an emphasis on proportion and surface finish. Thanks to a wide range of materials, finishes, and variants, the M collection allows for sensitive adaptation to the interior, from modest solutions to more distinctive accents.

Désir

The Désir collection is characterized by bold lines and clean shapes that clearly correspond to contemporary aesthetics. The form is reduced to clearly legible geometric elements, without decorative gestures, with an emphasis on precision of proportions and visual calm.

The collection is available in four plastic finishes that reinforce its strong, contemporary character. It is precisely the addition of new finishes that has contributed to Désir's recent popularity in architectural projects. Thanks to its understated form and rationally selected range of materials, the collection represents an accessible solution for projects where electrical outlets are seen as a natural part of the architectural concept rather than an accessory.

Iris

The Iris collection by Modelec features curved shapes and balanced proportions inspired by 1930s design. Its calm geometry allows for sensitive use in both contemporary interiors and renovations of historic buildings, where simple installation and respect for the original architecture are important.

The Iris Horizon extension brings a symbolic layer inspired by the Voyager Golden Record, with a circular motif and subtle surface rhythm serving as abstract references to time and technology. The collection is available in several materials, including porcelain, solid metal, and plastic.

Fascination

The Fascination collection was created in close collaboration between Modelec and ornamental artist Steaven Richard. In Parisian workshops, brass undergoes a process of structuring and patination, during which the technical precision of the craft becomes the bearer of artistic expression.

The material is shaped by experienced craftsmen to resemble various creative designs. The surface undulates, grains, and evokes the structures of exotic wood or perforated mashrabiya screens. Patination adds depth and color to the brass, reminiscent of semi-precious stones such as jade or lapis lazuli, without slipping into literalism.

The Fascination collection is available in six finishes and uses ornamentation as a fully-fledged architectural element.

The designer works with electrical fittings as an integral part of the architecture. Across the collections, there is a clear emphasis on materials, craftsmanship, and controlled form, which allows switches and sockets to be perceived not as technical accessories, but as conscious details that shape the character of the interior.
