ERLEBACHOVÁ BOUDA

The Erlebachová Bouda lies at an altitude of 1148 metres below Malý Šišák on the main ridge of the Krkonoše Mountains. The history of Erlebachbaude dates back to 1784, when Ignáz Hollman built the first summer log cabin here, which Franz Erlebach bought a hundred years later. During the totalitarian regime, the hut belonged to the Centrotex company, which allowed it to fall into disrepair for years until the dilapidated, stylish wooden building was demolished in the early 1980s. In 1990, Centrotex opened a brand new leisure centre in its place. In 1998, the couple Martina and Jiří Tomášek bought the Erlebach chalet and gradually integrated it with other neighbouring buildings into the comprehensive Resort sv. František complex.

The carefully executed reconstruction of the Erlebach chalet is the result of many years of collaboration (which developed into a friendship) between the Tomášek family and the architect Zuzana Sceranková. Although it seems almost unbelievable, this exciting story began some twenty years ago when Zuzana Sceranková and her then thirteen-year-old son, the current co-author of the reconstruction, Matúš Sceranková, spent a skiing holiday in what was then the Erlebach chalet. As soon as Jiří Tomášek learnt that an architect was among his guests, he asked her to sketch a possible new shape for the Erlebach chalet. This initial sketch led to a collaboration that lasted two decades.

After receiving planning permission for the conversion and completion of the Hotel Erlebachbaude in 2007, around fifteen years of construction followed in several stages. Firstly, around half of the original Erlebachbaude building was rebuilt. Subsequently, the space for the wellness centre towards the Chapel of St. Francis was completed - at this point, the team of architects Matúš Sceranka, who was involved in the design of the wellness centre during his studies at the university, completed the work. The inner glass chapel became the highlight. And finally, in 2023, the last stage was completed, the extension of the west wing of the hotel, the so-called barn, today the most beautiful space in the entire resort. Erlebachbaude owes the resulting peaceful atmosphere of the enclave on the Krkonoše meadow to the seemingly challenging requirement of the KRNAP administration to build underground car parks. The final landscaping, scheduled for May 2024, will complete the entire project with the completion of a garden with a fountain and the inscription BEAUTY AND JOY on the roof of the underground car park.

Berker Q.3

Velvety caress

Robust with clear contours and an extremely smooth surface. The berker Q.3 is equipped with the same small centre plate as the berker Q.1 and is also perfect for installation in skirting boards and parapet channels.

The frames, rockers and centre plates of the berker Q.3 design line are available in plastic with a velvety surface: polar white matt, anthracite matt, aluminium matt

The architects decided on Berker Q.3 switches in anthracite. ‘These switches are among our most popular series,’ explains Thomas Grund, Managing Director of Hager Electro, whose portfolio also includes Berker switches. "They don't push themselves into the foreground. With their symmetrical shape, clear lines, high-quality finish and subtle colours, they match almost any interior design style. They harmonise perfectly with the wooden elements and pastel colours of the Erlebachhütte," says Thomas Grund. In addition to switches and sockets, the rooms also feature data and TV sockets in the same design as well as analogue thermostats to control the underfloor heating. "We also coordinated other functional furnishing elements with the anthracite-coloured Berker Q.3 switches and the overall atmosphere of the rooms. Finally, we combined Nordlux ceiling lights with Enna wall lights and table lamps from Astro Lighting. The bathrooms feature imaginative fittings from London-based manufacturer Buster+Punch," adds Katrin Grund, founder and owner of the MONOBRAND concept store, which provided the furnishing accessories for the barn conversion.
